I've had it! In-Lines in stock anywhere?
« on: October 01, 2015, 07:41:44 AM »
My tag opens up next week Friday... At this point I'm either borrowing an in-line from a friend or buying a new one.

My .54 hawken would not pattern for anything last night with a lead sled.  I put 60 rounds through it over the last couple of days.  I had the nipple eject from the gun and hit me in the forehead.  I've had a misfire on the first round for all 3 days.

I'm going to take an in-line for this hunt and intend to buy a new one.  Anyone know of stores within 60 miles of Everett that have them in stock?  Cabelas has...1.  Snohomish Fred Meyer has zero.  I'm going to do some calling around.

Any help from the masses?

Do you have a Sportsman's Whse. in the area?  They carry Knights and the one in Kennewick had Bighorns, DISC Extremes, and even an Ultra-Lite.

Actually if you can find a Sportsman's it might be worth the drive - also get a Vet discount if you are a vet.

Ranch and Home might be another place.

Thanks Sabotloader.  I'll make some calls to see what is worth it.

Not a vet, but thanks for the thought.

I might check out Adventure Sports.  They're close.

Anyone have experience with them?  Looks like they're a Knight authorized retailer.

Talk to Gary in there, tell him Dan sent you.

Or shoot me a PM, I have a Bighorn or a Blackdiamond XR you could borrow...all ready to go.

Unless you are really hooked on a break open then I would suggest to you to pass and look at the DISC with a Western Conversion.

Should be around $500

The Big Horn runs right @ $380

And the Vision at Sportsmans is $250

Remember all of these need to have the Western Conversion for Washington

I think I'm going to head to Adventure Sports.  Looks like they have what I'm looking for.

Knight Bighorn or DISC Extreme?

Or should I go CVA Optima V2?

Any strong opinions?  Optima is cheapest, followed by Bighorn and DISC Extreme.  What does DISC give me that Bighorn doesn't for the Knight fans?

DISC - constant reliable ignition - more versatile - shoots almost and projectile extremely well - All American made - Green Mountain Stainless barrel - you can use either #11 or Musket caps - even switch to 209's with a conversion kit.

One of the bigger reasons for me is the DISC provides a little better weather protection than does the open breech Bighorn.

But of course the Big Horn will be the same except it is not as versatile...

Both are lifetime guns.  So really it comes down to the pocketbook.

I like to feel the pain once and have my gun go off every time.

I'm going to pick up a DISC extreme I think.

What is an extra hundred bucks in this game?
