Dane need help (seattle)
« on: October 06, 2015, 09:21:41 PM »
Hello fellow members!

I'm on an exchange to Seattle for the next to months (leaving dec. 2nd) and i would really like to go hunting here!
The nature is so beautiful, it's really something!! My problem is that my hunter education from
Denmark doesn't give me the opportunity to hunt in washington on my own :( But I was told that i could
get a permit to hunt with a person who have an hunters education. Is there anybody who can help me out here? I'm
as mentioned earlier from Denmark. I'm 18 years old and I really like to meet new people. My impression of Americans so far is that they are very nice and accommodating :) So i really hope somebody thinks that it could be a nice experience to bring a Dane on his/her hunts this fall!!

I am sorry but I do not know the answer to this. Hopefully someone has experience in this area and can help you. I will look and ask around though.

-From the people around me they say that you need an accredited hunter education and Denmark's are not accepted here and would require an accredited Hunter education to hunt. I will look more into it. You could accompany someone on a hunt but not hunt yourself.

You can get a one time hunters ed deferrel. You have to apply online and have a current legal hunter to go with. It will be tough to pull off with such short notice but maybe you can pull it off.

What about going on a guided waterfowl hunt? Most guides should have hunting licenses so I'd think that would fulfill the requirement. Additionally, a guide would/should (nothing's 100%) get you into birds. You might have one issue to deal with and that might be 529 and letting you use a shotgun for your hunt.

You should be able to figure something out without too much trouble. Do you have transportation?
