Yeti Cooler or RTIC Cooler??
« on: October 11, 2015, 02:54:00 PM »
https://www.rticcoolers.com

Has anyone pre ordered one of these things?

What are your first thoughts and opinions. The price is more appealing.

I can’t wait to do it the next time.

I wouldn't do it.  There was a thread on here last year about yeti coolers on sale really cheap.  Turned out to be a scam and people never got there coolers

I remember that thread. These guys are not making fake yetis and slapping a yeti logo on them but pretty much just undercutting Yeti by making basically the same thing with a new brand name.

I have seen many coolers that are similar to the yetis and all are about half the price.  Costo on the west side had a great deal last week, my buddy picked on up and it is legit....very well made.

Research the company and buy one.  Use your credit card so you can be reimbursed if it is a fraud.  Most major credit cards have fraud protection.

Yea, I think id be more interested in buying one of these RTIC coolers if they weren't backordered.
Im like anyone else in this modern age and demand things to be on the way to my doorstep yesterday.

That thread was in regards to a price being too good to possibly be true. In such cases, it usually is.

I think this cooler has been mentioned before and IIRC there was a comment about how the knock off company is getting sued by Yeti for design copying.

From online search, it looks like they exist but are so swamped with orders that only a small percentage of people have them compared to the number that have preodered and are waiting.

Here is a picture......pretty sure he got it from the Bothel or Everett Costco as he lives in Snohomish county.

It was only a matter of time before somebody started making Yeti quality at half the price.  Roto molding is just not that expensive.  Most expensive part is storage, advertising and shipping.

Remember the first LCD pocket calculators?  They were super expensive.  After couple years you could find them just as good for $5.99 at Radio Shack :chuckle:

Rtic is swamped with pre orders. Probably be next year before they start shipping.

The costco version doesn't look bad at all.

If you can buy at costco you can bet its a quality product at a pretty fair price. Costco doesnt buy/sell garbage just because its cheap. Thier return policy is so solid id feel comfortable bying anything they sell.
