Great early season even without dropping one.
« on: October 11, 2015, 06:32:01 PM »
Had a great early season this year for muzzy now that I am able to hunt my favorite old areas with early muzzy.
Had a great experience with an aggressive 4 pt guarding his 6 cows in the thick stuff. Called back and fourth with him and he even charged me from 20 to 10 yards or so once just no clear shot it was so thick. Lots of close calls this year 6 1/2 days of hunting, got on legal bulls at least 6 times. Just couldn't seal the deal. Met a lot of good folks out there, hope maybe some are on here. Don't remember names much. I hunted some in the Yale, and a lot in the Coweeman so if you did to and recognize my name (Pete) then it was nice to meet you. Got called in by other hunters twice and I excited a couple others by charging through the brush bugling while trying to get on a bull that was on the other side of them. Did not see any masher bulls but I am not complaining esp since I am just on my quest to get my first branched bull. Heres to the hopes of late season.

Great stories guys. I recently got back into muzzleloader hunting. Hunt with my son who's step dad farms wheat in Douglas county. Been hunting modern rifle there for past few years getting some ok bucks. Muzzy season there were some really big guys out. So long story short it harder than we thought.
Pretty damn fun though.
Still have late muzzy tag for deer.
Usually hunt late archery for elk in Yakima but I see the two hunts will clash.
Any decent areas that have elk & deer combo in WA during late season.
Will have vacation time to hunt from next week to the end of Nov.
here are some picks thur my spotting scope of deer we watched get away.

Here is a couple that weren't so lucky
