A little help with a older Martin youth bow

Not sure what model tag on the limb is faded best I can see is -MT 6-

Hard to tell without seeing the wheels better.  But looks like a Cougar Magnum target bow with very short draw length.  Cougar Magnums were wonderful bows at the time!  A lot of tournament wins with that bow back in the mid eighties.

Cougar Magnum had narrow wheels and used a cable guard.  The Cougar II used a wider wheel and no cable guard.  So that is why I say it is the Magnum.  Though plenty of shooters of the Cougar II added the cable guard later on.

If I remember right the Cougar Magnum, in my draw length, had 45-50% let-off.  That was a huge upgrade from the 35% let-off I had before that!  It was also a screaming fast shooter sometimes breaking 225fps.  We didn't think it could possibly get better than that!

Thanx rad looked @ some pic's on the yoogle think you nailed it! Brought this back fr MT also had a cheesy bear thumb release. Have some younger friends kids that I can get hooked on archery

Dollars to donuts my dad's shop painted that bow.  I remember growing up and seeing rack after rack of handles being painted at the shop.  MAN, I lusted after those bows!  cool flinger you got there!

The only reason I purchased my first Cougar Magnum is that prettier is always better    Those hardwood overlays, the flawless Emerald Green riser and the gold wheels were a sight to behold.  One of the most beautiful bows ever made. That paint work was gorgeous!

If it was a sight from the mid-eighties it probably found the trash.  Appropriate place for those IMO  I had a double bar Chek-It with full length dovetail extender on mine.  I was stylin' in a serious way when I hit the range!  Some guys might have actually mistaken me for "Cool"...at first glance.

man, i see bows on craigslist all the time with old sights.      and they always want $400 for the bow!
