Lens fogging?
« on: October 25, 2015, 12:11:51 PM »
How do you guys keep the lens from fogging.  I put a little hood over last night using a piece of bark, but just got uderexposed, foggy pictures as a result.

This is a pig of a buck for the island, was hoping to see some kind of mark on him that showed he was the one that I hit last weekend, but no luck. He, and a spike, came in while we were using the bloodglow stuff a hundred or so yards away in the woods.

Camera is the G42NG from Stealthcam.

You sure its the lens? I"m wondering if its just the flash bouncing back in the fog.

Long shot but.... they make this stuff called "cat crap" seriously that's what it's called. It's made to rub on your ski goggles to keep them from fogging up. They sell it at most ski shops. Just an idea, not sure it will work but might be worth a shot?

We were through that meadow before and after this picture was taken and it didn't seem that foggy.

could the deer be kicking up a huge cloud of dust? I had that on one of my cams last year.

Ive noticed it on my bushnell trophy cams from time to time on real wet mornings, not sure what you could do to prevent it?  At least you can still tell what you're looking at.  Nice buck by the way
If you dont do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do!

I remember at gun shows & Sportsman shows A salesman from World Optical Products selling anti fog for Rifle scopes, eyeglasses, optics etc...  It came in a clear container ( was blue green color) Any one wearing glasses would get a free demo. I bought some, it works well. One container should last a lifetime, have never tried it on camera lens, but plan on it now, to field test it.  There are many similar products on the market I haven't tried  Parker's anti fog/cleaner, Kleer vu Anti fog.
