Gaunt?  I don't see ribs, he actually looks chunky to me.  You would probably think the deer around here were living in a death camp.   :chuckle:

That there is tick infestation!

How do you know that?  Not arguing, just curious....

It's fibromas. He will be fine. After the winter, you won't even know he had something wrong with him. The aren't deeper than skin, as long as they don't block eyesight or feeding, they are perfectly harmless.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

A bit of an inside joke. I was deer hunting years back and we came upon a guy about to skin a deer.  The deer had some big spots around his eyes and blue skin that you could see because of all the hair falling off.  I think we looked curious because he just blurted out "THAT THERE IS TICK INFESTATION ". The older guy in our group about ran away, which still makes me laugh, we weren't that close yet for any intimate danger.  This guy though was getting very intimate with the deer and 10,000 ticks that as far as I could see were without a living host and may be looking for a new dinner party. We were then told the story of how he saw the deer, drove to the house of the property owner, obtained permission and returned to the spot he  last saw the deer. With wonder in his eyes he told us the deer was still standing in the exact same spot. Our immediate conclusion was suicide by hunter. That guy fully intended on eating that lyme diseased meat. "That there is tick infestation ".
Lead em if they're running.

Tbar and Jonathan_S for the win :)
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
