Mouth of the Cowlitz
« on: December 11, 2015, 08:41:30 PM »
Im already dreaming of Springer action. Can someone explain the what for on fishing at the mouth of the Cowlitz. Ive always fished up at Blue Creek. I wanna try something different. I have a 18 ft Wooldridge sled with Merc jet pump. Plenty of power.

you can fish for steelhead and salmon at the mouth. i live on the lower cowlitz. it's blown with every tree and stump you can think of floating down the river right now. heck i even seen a storage shed floating down the river two days ago had to look twice to make sure i was not going nut's :chuckle: steelhead was doing ok before it blew out. will be some time for the lower river drops back in shape. have not checked the river level up towards barrier and blue creek. but im sure it is high as well. i seen two crazy fools two days ago fishing by rocky point off the bank. takeing there life in there own hand's one wrong move into the drink and there history. the water was ripping faster than ive seen in about 10 years looked like the nile river  :yike:
