You mention shot placement....is the behind the ear preferred?

It's good so you don't damage the meat and kills them instantly they drop like a sack of potatoes

That's interesting, I suppose it's a much larger target area than the same spot on a deer or elk. Also, shooting at a relaxed animal I woiuld guess at relatively close distance?
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

That's interesting that a lot of people shoot deer in the head also at a couple hundred yards and they are relaxed also at least the buffalo sense something is going on so they bunch up so it's hard to get a shooting lane

That is a problem with herding animals. I've heard that is the most difficult aspect of shooting the larger herding animals like Bison, Muskox, etc...

They have a butcher shop local but if you don’t live near by then I would suggest taking it to a butcher nearby your home because they don’t ship the meat so you would have to drive all the way back to pick up the meat. I was told by a butcher that they could ship the meat within Oregon so if you live in Oregon let me know

The average hanging weight varies from 500-600 lbs most of my clients have shot buffalo that are between 550-600 that’s realistic

There are 2 days left of deer season for bow so contact me if you want to harvest your buffalo to fill the freezer for a whole year. You can also have a nice buffalo skull and a buffalo hide for a rug can’t beat that with some of the best meat you will ever eat
