Hello Everyone,
Well, I will start off with giving a background story. I just retired from the Army and was stationed at JBLM for several years before I got out. I am a WA native, but didn't start hunting until about 7 years ago. I hunt deer, elk and bear every year. I have been successful on blacktails and bears, but have bad luck on elk. Well this year is no exception. I decided last year to start leasing land and have 1000 acres between Rochester and PeEll. It is a great property and am out there whenever I get a chance. I have several trail cams out there, and have several stands on the property. I got a 250lb Black Bear in September, and a nice 2X3 Blacktail last week. But my nemesis is the mighty timber ghost. I decided to do muzzleloader this year, and scouted hard. I knew where they were going to be early season, but something came up and wasn't able to hunt. Instead, I told my neighbor which stand to sit in and time, and he got a nice 4X4.
The thing is, my lease doesn't have late muzzleloader elk, and I haven't scouted or spent any time in GMU's that do.
I am willing to take out someone for modern elk or late rifle deer on my lease to trade for spot to do late muzzle elk, or looking for help on general areas on the west side for late muzzy elk or a hunting partner. I am not afraid to put in some time scouting. I am willing to lease land or even help out doing work in order to hunt on property. Not picky on animal, just looking for a legal elk.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Steve
