Looks like a cat kill.

That track and this bed with fresh piss were right next to the kill but I agree it looks like a cat kill the wolf had taken over

Those aren't canine tracks.  They are cat tracks.

disagree to disagree. Cat tracks don't have there claws out when the walk. So those would be canine tracks

I just looked at comparisons online of cougar and wolf track and I think it's wolf,  :dunno:

Definitely not a cat track, they are real round and no claws show in the track.  Looks a lot like a wolf, unless Cujo is working the area.

If you look at the track with the hand, you can see the two lobes on the front of the heel pad and the three lobes on the back of the heel pad.  This is an indicator of a cat track.  Also, the toes trail in an asymmetrical shape.  A canine track is symmetrical and the middle two toes will be even in the front.

Under certain conditions a cat track will shoe a pointed toe as in this case.

Shouldn't a cat track be the same size as your hand or is that just up the entiat river.

The track next to his hand looks to be in loose dirt a cat track could easily show claws in that soil. Look at the tracks in the bed... Round with no claw marks. Sometimes cat tracks will register nail marks, dogs always seem to. Cannot draw an "X" between the toes without hitting the pad. Pad seems to be about 50% of the track. Probably a female because it doesn't seem like a very big print. Not an expert tracker but that's what formed my observation.

Bobcat track but for some reason the one at the end of the couch can't move his leg so I can't compare his paw to my hand. :dunno:

Found these on the road yesterday bordering the Alta unit.  Tracks in the snow melted out but all were k-9 like the print in the dirt.  Measured about 5.5" pad to toe.  Probably just coyotes I'm sure.

That wolf track is a very good one to compare to the OP track.  Note the symmetry of this one relative to the first.  Also, note the different shape of the heel pad.  There are a few traits that really jump out at you once you know what to look for.
