Just wondering what new gear you will be using this spring?

I get to try out my new Tactical Tater Turkey Vest, H.S. Strut Black Widow slate call and my new H.S. Strut Glass Witch slate call.

2 Kids at once at Turkey Camp!!!!!! I can't wait!

I even am considering leaving my shotgun at home..... Nahhh'!  Now that I think of that, aint goint to happen.

I did pick up a great new turkey vest for one of my kids at Cabelas bargain cave. New. Never used, the buckle strap that tightens the chest was mis-sewn.... BFD!!! Kaching', saved me half price. I hand sewed it at home in a few minutes and saved over $40!  Thank you very much.

Well last year I broke in my stuffer hen decoy I mounted up.  The first tom I harvested jumped on her back and I shot him off of her, but he got in a couple neck pecks and I used an epoxy to repair her.  I can't wait to use her again...

Yelp, how in the world do you pack that thing around? Doesn't look like it folds up too well, haha. For the first time in like 8 years I won't be using anything new. My wallet thanks me. Hell I'll probably break down and buy some back up Knight & Hale diaphrams. I have two that I love, fit me well, sound great, can do every call on them. Nothing pisses me off more than to have a diaphram that can do everything on but when I go to cut it washes out. Or one that cuts and does everything but you have to work at it to purr. No thanks.

Nothing new for me. Bought a Mystic Crystal slate after my first bird last year and called in #2 with it. I guess it's still new right?

BTW: I love that Black Widow slate Diehard. Had mine for years.

Yelp, I gotta get me one of those. I will dump the next bearded hen I see just so I can have a mount for a decoy.

Nothing new for me. I stick to a few diaphrams and a decoy. Nothing fancy.

Nice decoy yelp i need one of those. I have had good luck with feather flex breeding pair. those big easterns cant stand a jake on top of a hen laying on the ground.

I mounted two stuffers last year...I do it old school with original skull wire and wood fiber.  They turn out ok.  You need a stiff wire to push them into the ground.  I also positioned the hen to be the most stable ...but most toms weigh 15 to 20 lbs.  That is a lot of pressure on the joints.  I turn the decoy on her back and put her into the back of my vest.  I killed my 30th tom in Washington State with her last year and I have never seen a decoy work better.  I called in a tom for a buddy last year that was henned up with 13 hens.  All of those hens walked up to her and pecked on by.  That big tom brought up the rear saw my stuffer and fell in love.  I killed 4 toms off of her last year.  The other stuffer I mounted for my buddy use it to kill 2.  All my friends got a chance to try the stuffers out last year.  Amazing results.  The hard part is the carrying  part.  I am working on a sling sack in camo that I can put her in to protect her but also make it easier to carry.  I used her to also get a tom for a 7 year old last year..his first kill and first tom....These decoys rock.
