Kids and Migrators

So Mom says something about hunting trips, need a weekend without kids, etc., and off she went.  Fair enough!  So what does Dad do for a November weekend with the kids?  Well, go look for deer of course!  Off to the greater Entiat we went.  We saw some cool sights, and found some fun.

Kids had just enough snow time (barely) to balance out the glassing.  They just told Mom about all the critters they saw, and how little Clara spotted the biggest buck of all.  Good times.

We ran into you and your kids up there on Saturday! My buddy had the tag and I was up helping him spot. Saw some nice bucks but way too much time to pull the trigger! I'll be up with him again this weekend if your around we will stop and talk some more.

Should be lots of new snow last night and today (looks like Stevens has about 6" of new), things should be working out well for your days off.  Can't wait to see the results!

Yes, nice chatting with you as well!  Glad to connect on here.  Looking at all the nice bucks and deciding which one is right is a big part of the fun.  It can also be frustrating!  Much easier with the camera.     Unfortunately I'm out of town next weekend and will miss the festivities, but will look forward to see what your buddy and 180-Grain wind up with.  You guys will do well.

Right on.  That's what I do when mommy is threatening to crack up and claims to need some alone time.  I pack up my two & six year-old daughters and head for the hills. 

The six year-old has had her own Leupold Yosemite 6x30 binocular since her third birthday, she is a heck of an animal spotter.  The younger one will get hers soon, I had a heck of a time finding another of the discontinued Mossy Oak Break-Up Pink when she was born, but figured that if I wasn't going to be refereeing binocular wars for the next ten years that I had better find another pair.

Pink binos, that's a great idea!  I find that I reinforce my son's hunting/fishing interests a lot, I need to find ways to do it for my daughter too.   She likes pink. 

I'm not sure she understands that the bird is not called "grouse nuggets" but she likes them and was intent on finding some "grouse nuggets" this weekend.  Need to keep that going.
