Edmonds Pier is a good place to go.  I go over there with my daughter and we do pretty good.
They say the best times to go is December and January.  But they are in now.
I was over there a couple of weeks ago and watch some guys get a few.
Maybe I'll see you out there some night

May be a bit of a drive...but Dash Point Pier has been crazy good.  I took my two boys out there last weekend and in about an hour we had a bucket full.  Every time I've been out there these past few weeks they have been there in large numbers.  Of course there's a crowd at the end of the dock but even though they don't speak English, they are very friendly.

I went from 5pm to 9pm last night. I've always done better on a in coming tide and best around high water, I hit out going to low water last night.
I only got 20 but I bet it would be better around high tide.

Anybody have suggestions for a boat-less fisherman in the West Sound?  I don't know of any long piers out into the sound.

Nobody posting is using a boat.

The big squid fishing piers are Edmonds, Steilacoom, and Dash Point as mentioned above.  Seems early to be getting them in numbers. Congrats to those filling their buckets.

Thanks, Ed.  What about similar piers on the west side of the sound?  Are there any?

Sometimes they're in the marinas under the lights so Winslow marina might be a place to start if you can get down on the floats.

Sorry, can't help there, I wasn't thinking Bremerton/Port Angelas West since I saw Seattle? on your profile.  I wish I could figure out a place here in the islands, even having to use the boat.  A neighbor pulled up an old crab trap two summers ago covered with squid egg cases, but that was during the summer.

The illahee dock in bremerton.   The one at the bottom of ocean view and illahee rd.  The lights on until 10pm.  If your new at it pay close attention to the other people there.  And copy them.  I see  them there every night.

Excellent.  Thanks.

And thanks, Encore, for the Winslow marina tip.  By the way, can I borrow your net again?

If you are in Seattle, Pier 86 (by Olympic Sculpture Park) or Dock A in Ballard are popular. There are a couple others, but I've never been to those personally.

There is also a popular pier in Des Moine and one on Ruston Way in Tacoma.

Probably others too, but those are the ones I know of

Went to Pier 86 last night. Caught about 10 good sized ones in an hour. Probably could have caught more, but I had enough for tonight's appetizer and it was just too freaking cold!
