I had a friend that had one, called it a "confidence" decoy...Only time he ever noticed it doing anything extra was when another heron came in and kicked the living...(&%$) out of it.Provided some entertainment on a slow day, but he was pretty upset that it got wrecked,

You have to put it a ways away from you.I've had it at the end of a pond and the ducks that come by , outside the dekes, do a pylon turn around the heron and come right back in.Had a bird watcher in Stanwood, sneak up on my decoy and take pictures of it. Scared the hell out of him when I started telling him it was fake.
