Headed East for Whitetail
« on: November 10, 2015, 08:34:25 PM »
Hello:)
I'm trying to plan a late whitetail hunt this coming weekend. I am not asking for anyone's honey holes or special places, I know they mean a lot to everyone. I am just looking for a general idea, so I can book a place to stay.
have an option to stay in Northport, Republic/Curlew or Chewelah.
Not in need of a masher(although it'd make me smile huge!) I am just after a meat buck, to put my part into the freezer and earn my keep...just kidding!
It's been along time since Ive been over that way and alwayshad private property.
I got some advice on a good public area and unless I am reading it wrong there are closures in that area, unless it's the campground only.
Any help on which area to go would be much appreciated! :)

Are you rifle or archery hunting? The 101 unit (republic/curlew) is not open for rifle but is open for archery. Tons of public land in the NE corner. Colville, chewelah, kettle falls, metaline falls, Ione, Newport etc all have places to stay/camp and plenty of public land

I am rifle hunting. Was wondering if with the changes to gmu 117 and 121, if it would be beneficial.  I'm not disabled or a youth so I can't hunt 101. Looking at cabin options, pend oriole lakes is an option.

Sorry for the confusion. The cabin we are looking at is in gmu 117, very close to 111 and 113, from what the owner says, neat Heritage Lake. Then, there's the option also of Northport. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on which area holds more whitetail? Like I said I don't need a honew hole, just a general idea.
Thanks again:)
