Klickitat Buck

Since we no longer have the early season, had no choice but to hunt the late. Opening day this one was after a doe, and being a trophy hunter ( the first legal one that comes by), I couldn't pass him up. Dropped him in his tracks with the new Federal Premium Trophy Copper 270 gr bullet. It worked flawless ,expanded as described.

Here is the recovered bullet. It was a frontal shot, slightly down hill , base of neck, took out the spine then deflected down and cut the heart.

Only legal ones I've seen the last three days were after dark. (trail cam pics ) The usual does and small bucks during the day. Tough area to hunt mostly private land.

Thanks, they are super easy to load, shot after shot, and no cleaning in-between shots. 100grs ffg 777,TC black diamond XR, very accurate load they shot better than I can with open sights.

great buck we hunt that area with a old timer during modern season. once in a while see some nice bruiser's but between private and public property and pressure during modern seems a little tougher. we will continue to hunt that area with him till he says no more. Years ago he made sure my sons got out and were able to hunt when times were tough and I was going through a bad divorce. Good luck in 2016

Hope you are able to hunt for years to come. I know what you mean, with all the WPT land closed and the rest mostly private it's a hard area to hunt. This buck was shot on our property. Have only 40 acres and with the wife being an avid hunter also, to spread things out I muzzle and she goes the modern route. We have been blessed with the chance to fill both tags every year. Good luck to you also in 2016.
