My first idaho whitetail!!!!!!!!!
« on: November 28, 2015, 07:39:39 PM »
I was so excited the first year we went over to Idaho Whitetail hunting. I had to get my hunting card first. After passing my test I new I could kill a deer. I got my first blacktail last year but I still had to get a whitetail. I did not want a little spike or a two point. I wanted it to look like a real whitetail. On our way over we saw a lot of deer and hoped that there was that many deer were we were going. The first evening we got there, we took a drive to do some looking around. The next morning we got out in the woods early in the morning ,unloaded the quads and went behind a gate. We drove out to a clearcut and we saw a deer running down the ridge. I got my gun, ran up to a stump and tried to find it in the scope, then my dad said " It's a buck. It's a buck." Then my dad hit the grunt call and the deer hit the brakes. I aimed and shot, the deer jumped up and kicked his leg's. I got another round in and shot again and then the deer dropped. But he was laying there and his head was still up. So I shot two more times and I could not see him anymore.  We started walking down the ridge and saw blood, then sure enough there he was. I had just gotten my first whitetail. Later in the hunt we had chances on nice bucks and saw plenty of deer. Hope to kill a big one next time.
