I never understood why people buy lifted rigs from a dealership. They throw on the cheapest tire/wheel/ lift combo and jack the price $10000+. You can buy a stock truck , buy a way better lift/tires and wheels and still save money. Plus not finance the extras for 5+ years.
Was at the local Jeep dealer yesterday dropping off the wife's grand Cherokee. I've been kicking around the idea of building a new wheeling rig so I was checking out the 2015 Jeep JK 4 door. They had one there lifted 4" sitting on 18's and 37" tires. Just a bare bones Sahara edition it was $18000 more than the bone stock one next to it. The lift/tire/wheel combo was $3800 if bought separate.

But the Sahara will have more bells and whistles.  Won't have the Rubicon stuff like lockers and what not. So maybe it's a tie ...

Ya I know the Sahara is not the base JK model. Not sure why I said bare bones  :chuckle:. Still the dealer installed lift , wheels and tires didn't make it $18000 more than the one next to it. Considering you would have to regear it (3.21 gears + 37" tires = :bdid:) and upgrade the brakes. With the $18000 extra you could buy a Sahara and build a rubiclone and still have cash left over

AEV is short for American Expedition Vehicles. Their a high end builder that build Jeep Pickups (AEV Brute ) and Hemi swaps into Jeeps. There stuff is extremely clean and not thrown together .
