Northwest Motorsport
« on: December 16, 2015, 09:58:41 AM »
I saw this pretty legit truck dealership on my way to Sea-Tac, and they were called NW Motorsports.

Does anyone have any feedback on them? I want to get a truck, and wouldn't hate it to be lifted with good tires, so I don't have to do it later.

I would appreciate any feedback about NW Motorsport or any solid truck dealer.

Thanks!

Pretty overpriced for what they sell. Have a friend that bought there though and he said service was good.

Quite a bit of feedback here, if it is affiliated or owned by the same people as the one in Puyallup.

Here's my take on NW Motorsports:

1. They lift everything they buy. I sold them a 2011 Chevy 1500 and within a week it was on their www lifted, on 35's and 20" wheels (their go to choice). I also saw a truck I like that was stock, lifted within a week, $10,000 more expensive and sold within days
2. If they buy it lifted, they spray the underside with a black rust resistant spray, if they lift it they do the same
3. They don't move on price since they lift almost everything (and put bigger tires on them) and forward that price onto you
4. They have a lot of choices, lots of price points
5. Go in there knowing what you want to spend, what the truck is worth, and GOOD Luck bartering with them

All in all, I've bought two trucks there. I've never felt swindled. You're buying a car, they are shady people. Do your research and be patient. Sometimes they have SMOKING deals...Others, they are ripping you off.

I'd buy again from them again. Hope I was helpful.

They are way over priced, they have a 2014 Tacoma TRD with 24k miles listed for $37,999.
Blue book is $27k

I priced out a brand new 2014, TRD for $35,760

They are selling a two year old truck for $2,000 over the brand new price.

Brother bought his dodge from them. Had a performance chip and lift AT THE DEALER.
Started having issues well within the warrantee period. When trying to take advantage of the warrantee they told him he was having problems because he lifted the truck, and that using a performance chip voids their warrantee!

I think they are way over priced. There are better deals out there. I went to colville and bought my truck and that same year/ model with the same miles was going for average 5k more over here on the westside. Do some research around you will find a good deal.

I don't know.  I ran into him at the Phoenix airport during spring training last year.  He was carrying a NW Motorsports laptop bag.  I should have asked him.

:chuckle: LOL, all this talk about a dealership being over priced......... :dunno:

Dealerships are in business to make money, as is any business. The market dictates the price, if they are so much more overpriced than the next dealership then they wouldn't be growing and expanding like they have been.

I sold a truck to them a few years ago when they were starting out, gave me a good price and sold that same truck in less than 2 weeks at a higher price. If they "overpriced" it it would have sat there on their lot for a bit longer I'd imagine. :dunno:

XAF, it can't hurt to do your own research and price comparisons in hand when you go talk to them, the worst that can happen is you decide to go somewhere else. :twocents:

Elkrunner is likely on the up-and-up, but....

That does not usually get a guy a discount.  In fact, it can get you an increased price.  Because you said “Joe Schmoe sent me,” they now have to pay for the “bird dog fee” that many dealerships offer to people who send you in to buy a vehicle from them.

When I worked for Appleway Group in the Spokane Valley, back in the early 90’s our bird dog fee was $100 for a new car, $50 for used.  All they had to do was say “Skillet sent me” and buy a car.  Then, all I had to do was keep after those guys in the sales office to pay me.  They never offered it up on their own...

I never understood why people buy lifted rigs from a dealership. They throw on the cheapest tire/wheel/ lift combo and jack the price $10000+. You can buy a stock truck , buy a way better lift/tires and wheels and still save money. Plus not finance the extras for 5+ years.
Was at the local Jeep dealer yesterday dropping off the wife's grand Cherokee. I've been kicking around the idea of building a new wheeling rig so I was checking out the 2015 Jeep JK 4 door. They had one there lifted 4" sitting on 18's and 37" tires. Just a bare bones Sahara edition it was $18000 more than the bone stock one next to it. The lift/tire/wheel combo was $3800 if bought separate.

But the Sahara will have more bells and whistles.  Won't have the Rubicon stuff like lockers and what not. So maybe it's a tie ...

Ya I know the Sahara is not the base JK model. Not sure why I said bare bones  :chuckle:. Still the dealer installed lift , wheels and tires didn't make it $18000 more than the one next to it. Considering you would have to regear it (3.21 gears + 37" tires = :bdid:) and upgrade the brakes. With the $18000 extra you could buy a Sahara and build a rubiclone and still have cash left over
