I never understood why people buy lifted rigs from a dealership. They throw on the cheapest tire/wheel/ lift combo and jack the price $10000+. You can buy a stock truck , buy a way better lift/tires and wheels and still save money. Plus not finance the extras for 5+ years.
Was at the local Jeep dealer yesterday dropping off the wife's grand Cherokee. I've been kicking around the idea of building a new wheeling rig so I was checking out the 2015 Jeep JK 4 door. They had one there lifted 4" sitting on 18's and 37" tires. Just a bare bones Sahara edition it was $18000 more than the bone stock one next to it. The lift/tire/wheel combo was $3800 if bought separate.

A Sahara is not even close to bare bones. That's as loaded as the JK gets.

But the Sahara will have more bells and whistles.  Won't have the Rubicon stuff like lockers and what not. So maybe it's a tie ...

Ya I know the Sahara is not the base JK model. Not sure why I said bare bones  :chuckle:. Still the dealer installed lift , wheels and tires didn't make it $18000 more than the one next to it. Considering you would have to regear it (3.21 gears + 37" tires = :bdid:) and upgrade the brakes. With the $18000 extra you could buy a Sahara and build a rubiclone and still have cash left over

AEV is short for American Expedition Vehicles. Their a high end builder that build Jeep Pickups (AEV Brute ) and Hemi swaps into Jeeps. There stuff is extremely clean and not thrown together .
