« on: December 25, 2015, 09:21:37 PM »
Well I've finally got a go pro trying to figure out the best set up to film some coyote calling. Mount it on my ar or put it on a tripod?

Try both, gun mount would ensure to get video of every shot. Tripod may not always be inline with yotes approach.

You won't be moving the weapon that fast to shoot yotes, so no dizziness.

Forehead mount would be what I would recommend. Then its always looking where you are looking.

Don't scope mount if you have a real high power rifle. My .270 win. makes some terrible jump. In all honesty you're not going to get much unless they get up close and personal, go pro and other action cams just have too wide an angle. Mounted on a shot gun if you're shooting within a 15 yds should get some great footage. Try watching Solo Hunter it might give you some ideas as to how to use your camera, and if you've got a video camera or a dslr with video how to incorporate the two for some cool clips. Not saying you won't get anything worthwhile with just a go pro, just saying don't get your hopes up too high I've been disappointed myself. But very fun to play with.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

The gopro will be fine, It wont be as great as a point and shoot zoom camera but it will work. Just change the settings from Wide to narrow. It reduces it and acts like a built in zoom, It focuses on [  ]    instead of [             ] So you have a narrow fov. What gopro are you using?
