Morels generally get started around Easter weekend. Every area is different, but that is when I start looking. Good luck:)

We start around Mother's Day and keep going into June. West side is not nearly as productive as east side. 2000 to 5000 feet depending on weather and timing. Hiway 12, 410, blewitt pass and I 90 all produce on the east side.

I start looking as soon as the snow starts to recede.  I've found several good patches right next to old snow banks...I can't wait to go this year!

Where do you look for them out here? Back in Illinois we looked for the dead elm trees and the river bottoms. Both were good producers.

Old logged areas, or old burn areas are a good place to start

Last time I had morels were in 2001. Didn't realize you had them out here. Nothing better than a corn fed whitetail steak and a mound of fried morels. Miss the simple things.
