I hope you guy's stay strong. He must have been doing something he loved I'm guessing? Make sure that dog of his get's to continue a great life along with the family. I was told he stayed with him through it all. I wanted to leave work yesterday and help just by having another set of eye's out there but they said he was already found by that time. Didn't wanna post it on here for fear of alarming family that might read it before the authorities notified them. It's a small community here in Saint John and everyone was concerned for his safety.

Very sorry to hear that.  Condolences to your family.

very sad. What ever happened with the hunter that was missing near king city a month or two ago?

Sorry to hear unfortunate news on any of these accidents. Prayers and condolences to all the families.

JJB11BB, I think your referring to the man that went missing near Royal city. He unfortunately was also found deceased. I believe they said at the time it appeared he had fallen.

I happen to work only 6 miles from this place. Joe Delong is one of our customers. I guess I got misinformed on the dog being at the rig. Either way I feel like when the search crew went out the night before at around 10:00 they should have followed the water's edge. If nothing else it would serve as a border to the search area and narrow your field. Suck's that this happened to this guy and hopefully people will better understand how dangerous the water is in weather like this.

Falling into rain swollen rivers is bad even for the best swimmers, you don't realize the strength of the currant until you've been in something like that. All it takes is the currant to  pin you into a sweeper or a log jam or even a steep bank and you're a goner.

We see a lot of accidents like this every summer and fall in Alaska and many are even wearing flotation devices.

Sorry to hear this, as I am sure many others were I was hoping for better news. This type of things seems to be on the rise lately with hunters and outdoorsmen. Be careful out there people, I doubt any of these guys set out to have an issue so pay attention to your surroundings and perhaps invite a friend or make new one(s). There was a mention on here last week about how hard hunting partners are to find, so often they are worth the effort.

Be careful, think about what you are planning and actually doing and let's not have these kinds of posts next year.

RIP to the hunter.
