Waist size seem to match jeans ok.  The ones I tried years ago had some tightness in the thighs.  If comparing to jeans I'd say tighter than 550's and looser than 501's.  Crotch was a bit tight for my taste.  Don't think they are made for dudes with old man buttox. :o  If you are young and fit they should be perfect!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

If your on the fence between sizes, size up. I wear between 32-34 waist on jeans. I went with 34 in Kuiu and they fit perfect.

Car Hart aren't as form fitting as kuiu. Depends how snug you want them 34 should be fine if your running the 145 base layer

You want to size up on kuiu, I wear a 34" pant but 36" kuiu fits me.

My jeans are all 34's. My Guide pants are 34, with room for base layering. Love those pants, just wish they made them in specific lengths for us vertically challenged folks...

It kind of depends on the pant. My first pair (attack) I got in 38 and they fit snug, little tight in the thighs. The next pair I got (alpine) I am swimming in a 38.
what in the wild wild world of sports???
