I'd start by browning the tags in a pan with a little olive oil. This will release all the essential oils from the tags.
After the tags have rendered down a bit, deglase the pan with the sweat from all of this years hunts. Let the sweat simmer and reduce, about 15 minutes.
Next, add some jerky, cheese sticks, and the power bars you ate while out in the field. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 2 hours. The tags will be very tender by then.
