The sad thing. About only 100 folks showed up at the rally yesterday.
And thatI think put blood in the water.
If they cannot take the time to get the word out and put together a real rally than I wish they would just not do it.

We need a million gun March. Just one great big one. Shut down I 5 from Seatle to Oly. Just one.

I didn't hear about the rally until Thursday, when I called Don Benton's office. Kind of hard to take time off without notice.

I agree that if we are going to do a good size rally we should do better on planning. But my buddy was there and only a hundred or so people were there.....won't take long for the libs and socialist to get their way with that kind of turn out

It will never make it to the House floor.

Sadly, I have to disagree.

How many previously unthinkable laws/policies have passed in the last few decades?

Just a few examples off the top:
1.  Gay marriage,
2.  Prosecuting florists/bakers that won't do gay marriages.
3.  Having "transgendered" guys shower with your 15 year old daughter
4.

I think the libs, including anti-gun libs, are patient and smart.    They might know it won't pass this time, but they are conditioning people so that it's no longer a shock.....

I've also been told by legislators this will not likely hit the floor of the House. If it does, it'll go down in flames.

I don't doubt that it will go down in flames.......  this time.

I just think they have a strategy that includes bringing this stuff up over and over to make it seem "normal".

Time was when guns were a normal part of life.   I have a son aqt Montana State.    When you go there, you check your weapons in the gun room in their dorm bldg.     Contrast that to U of W, where if you show up with a gun you're arrested and prosecuted.....

It happens in baby steps.

We will have to continually fight to retain our rights, especially on the state level, where the SCOTUS is hesitant to interfere.

Thank you for contacting me regarding HB 2354, a bill regarding assault weapons sponsored by Representative Moeller.

The bill makes it a felony to manufacture, possess, purchase, sell or transfer assault weapons or large capacity magazines. The bill applies to these activities after its effective date and thus grandfathers in existing owners. It generally exempts federal and state employees who acquire and possess these weapons within the scope of their duties; licensed manufacturers and dealers with respect to transactions with the armed forces or law enforcement; dealers who sell lawfully-acquired weapons to out-of-state individuals; and licensed gunsmiths for service or repair.

For ten years, from 1994 to 2004, the sale and transfer of assault weapons was federally banned. In these years, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) traced fewer assault-style weapons back to incidents of gun violence. However, House Judiciary Chair Laurie Jinkins has maintained that no gun safety legislation will advance this year without bipartisan support. As such, HB 2354 will not receive a hearing this year.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. I hope you will continue to keep in touch and mark your calendars for my upcoming town hall on February 21st.

Best regards,

Rep. Patty Kuderer

A Rally needs to happen on a weekend. Responsible people that make the world work are at work during the week.

this from my rep:

Dear Mr. Collins:

Thank you for your e-mail expressing your opposition to legislation that would ban assault weapons and large capacity magazines.

You will be pleased to know that HB 2354 did not come up for a hearing in the Judiciary committee and therefore did not meet the required deadline.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me.  I value the input I receive and hope you will continue to share your views with me.

Sincerely,

Cindy Ryu

These gun/ammo bills are like cancer and rust. They will never go away. Unfortunately we will be forever defending our right to have the freedom to defend ourselves and practice the sports we love.

Mountain communities in CO actually lined the road into town with burned cars and old construction equipment to keep the CA Cancer out. Worked for a while... eventually the Libs talked Boulder, CO into removing all the junk so proper people could live up there...
