Smith and Wesson Model 442
« on: January 24, 2016, 07:00:15 PM »
I'm interested in one of these little black revolvers. .38SP +P is a nice option, and it feels good in my hands.

Does anyone own one?

If so, do you any experiences/feedback?

Thanks!

I own a 642 (stainless) and its been a great carry gun. I've carried as my primary carry gun and as a BUG. It's light enough even in a ankle holster you almost forget its there.

I have several J-Frame Smiths, my main everyday carry is a 642. I carry it in a nylon pocket holster in my right front pants pocket everyday/allday now for four years.
I did pick up a nice stainless 640 that is ported but haven't had time to go shoot it yet, my 642 will remain my carry gun.
You can't beat the Smiths & Rugers.

I bought one shortly after they came out for my now ex wife.  Great little gun.  I'd put them in the same category as the Ruger LCR, which is what my current wife carries.  Either, is a great little gun for their intended purpose.  Not that this part matters much but I think the 442 is a better looking gun than is the LCR.

With Taurus handguns it a toss up if you get a good one, I've had several and they all went down the road. I'll stick with the Smiths & Rugers.
