Wow! Good info Sabotloader, thanks for sharing! I've been wanting to install peep sights on mine for awhile now...

You guys need to know these order numbers are for Knight rifle - if you are using something else you are on your own...  Even then the MK-85 has a different FP Peep sight number..
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

Nice I just pick up another BigHorn for 379.99 same stock and all S.Steel. love these rifles. I was tgere last one.
Thanks for all the tips.

I called around yesterday and found a Knight Disc Extreme at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Puyallup for $499.  Woo Hoo!  :IBCOOL:  It already had its first brush with wet weather because it was strapped to the back of my motorcycle for the ride home and the clouds were threatening.  But the "Seattle Sunshine" held off until after I made it home.  :chuckle:

Some thoughts on the gun:

This sucker is Heavy compared to my normal '06 hunting rifle!  I'll definitely want to get a sling to haul it around (and of course to increase accuracy when shooting).

The thumbhole stock will take some retraining.  Just playing with the gun in the store, I found myself wanting to grab the stock with my thumb over the top and this doesn't work very well.  I'll have plenty of time to practice before that quick shot on that trophy buck this fall. ;)

I'm excited about shooting it, but first I need to gather supplies........

Make sure you clean the rifle the day that you fire it, or as soon as possible! Even though it is a SS barrel it will still corrode and pit inside the barrel if left uncleaned! First hand experience with that one  :bash:
My interpretation of the rules are open to interpretation.
Once I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.

yea I own a few of them and forgot to clean it even though I didn't fire it. Pitted but still fires true.
