SpyPoint G4 Problem
« on: February 05, 2016, 02:21:13 PM »
I have 2 SpyPoint G4 cameras that have worked flawlessly for 4 years, now both of them recently stopped holding the programing, IE date and time.  I can run through the programing cycles on both of them, and it looks like everything is being programed, but they won't keep the information.  Has anyone else had this problem and was able to figure out what was causing it?

I have a 3 year old Cabelas camera that did the same thing after a bear smacked it around and broke the clear  plastic in front of the lights. The thing worked fine for months after the damage but when the rains came it started going through batteries really fast while taking very few videos and losing the programming. I took it home to dry out and it works fine now. (I think I'll need to use it in only in places that are always dry.)
Weird that it happened to 2 cameras at the same time and I wonder if it has anything to do with moisture getting inside.

Thanks for the thought JohnD; turns out it was just the internal battery went bad in both of them.
