Man, help a fella out! First year turkey hunting (spring) and trying to figure out where to hunt. 🤔

Lots of good info on this site.  Get some ideas and wear out some boot tread.  That's how I learned.

That's the plan. Plus knowing that "all" the turkeys are in the nw part of Washington helps 😁

I was looking to hunt someone's ranch/farm. But I have found a few pieces of public land that I will visit.

Worst part is that I'm from the west side, so it's a 6 hr drive. But dedicated to get my turkey!

So am I.  I travel 6+ hours myself to go turkey hunting.  But it's worth it, I hunted western WA once, and it was after I already hunted NE.  I'll never hunt the westside again.

I don't even want to try. I've seen a few turkeys last season during archery deer in cle elum. But heard it's a pumpkin patch out there for spring. So decided I'll do everything to make it happen to hunt east side

Week away. I'm not at my property, but my neighbor says that there is a lot of activity. Should be a good year!

Birds around my place (Stevens county) are in full bore mating mode this week. Winter flocks have pretty well all broken up and scattered.  Really on the move, so don't depend on any birds you might scout this weekend being in the same place next weekend.  Great hatch last year that seemed to have wintered well.  Lots of bachelor jake groups running around making a ton of noise in the morning and pretty much throughout the day. I've seen several jake flocks of over a dozen running around.  Should be a good hunt if the weather holds. Lots of private property (newly posted this year) so be carful where you hunt, some of these new landowners are pretty grouchy about trespassing.

Last year's good hatch seems to have survived the winter well, the daytime temperature exceeded 80 degrees yesterday, grass is growing and brush is already starting to leave out in low areas, most snow is gone at mid elevations, big flocks are breaking up with birds moving around good, I think it will be a very good season.

Yep sounds like it's going to be a fun year. My parents are heading over the 13th and the wife and I heading over the 5th of May.

i saw a Tom yesterday all by him self. What are the odds if no one chases him will he be close by? Do they travel far?

If he doesn't get bumped he should keep roughly the same pattern.
