General seasons have been set but as far as I know the special permit numbers for this year are not available yet. But I'll go take a look right now.

Well, you heard right! Someone's been holding out on us. Here it is:

http://wdfw.wa.gov/about/regulations/2016/wsr_16-04-126.pdf

From the proposed regulations:
WAC 232-12-287 Possession of dead wildlife.
Purpose of the proposal and its anticipated effects, including any changes in existing rules:
Currently there is no legal way to salvage and possess deer, elk, or moose that have been killed by a motor vehicle. Per a request by the Fish and Wildlife Commission, the Department has investigated a strategy that would allow salvage and possession of those animals. The proposed amendments to WAC 232-12-287 would facilitate the legal salvage of road-killed deer and elk.
Reasons supporting proposal: This proposal would allow citizens to salvage meat from a deer or elk that has been killed in a vehicle collision.

Finally, Washington might get some common sense.  Idaho has done this for ages.

Just remember these are only proposals at this point. Probably won't be finalized for about 2 months.

That's actually a reduction of sorts to the pressure in the Teanaway. 335 used to be included with the Colockum tags. Now it is carved out with only one tag allocated. They also did away with the late archery tag.

I just would love to hunt in September as opposed to November.

Last year there were 8 archery tags that let you hunt it in September and 11 archery tags for November/December. Now there is just one archery tag, period, and it's in September.  :twocents:

Why would they drop it down to one Sept tag and no late archery tags? Plenty of elk to support more tags.
