 Has anyone tried fishing potholes at night for walleye? Have you had success? Is it even legal?

Legal yes.  Have not done it for walleye, but I think it would be productive with how their eyes are designed for lowlight conditions

It is legal.  And productive.  Lots of guys will fish off the docks at MarDon at night, some nice wally's get caught that way every year.

Yes to legal and can and is great.  Summer time trolling plugs can't beat it once you learn the lake for fun and quality fish.

 Somebody was telling me they had a pen full of fish that acted like walleye decoys, is that true?

Yes. Late summer there are some rock piles that are exposed, some are hidden just under the water. Be careful around that island, gets shallow quick in some spots.

This is not a joke, we call it the rock garden....on a late clear sunny day, spend a little time with the big motor up and and take a look around.... :yike:   :twocents:

Yup winter time is when you want to fish the docks for walleye. They have a trout pen they have there until March or April. I've heard of people catching walleye there during the winter with swimbait type baits, haven't tried it myself though.

I have heard hurling Stick baits as far as you can works also.
