I don't think anyone knows the answer, but it's worth it to know what peoples general feel for the population is.  I think 31-50 statewide.

Good question- I'm not sure how many the WDFW has confirmed?  It's also likely that the same animal gets confirmed twice...

I imagine the pop. probably varies alot along the boarders!!! From canada and also the ones coming from idaho...But I would say their are alot if the wdfw is confirming they are here!!!

I picked 100-200, total guess, but there is a lot of wild remote country that you just cant patrol or know everything about.

I've never seen or herd one in this state.

 You should have clarified breeding pairs vs. transients, lot more transient visitor's -and no one really knows exactly how many, but quite a few. Take a grain of salt with the DFW reports.

A friend of mine lives in the Okanogan.  He says that he will run into them everyonce in a while.  They are not an issue yet, but he is keeping an eye on it.
