I had a similar situation when I was a kid.  15 years old and me and some buddies went fishing.  I had all my licenses and they never left my wallet.  Well a game warden came to check us and I opened my wallet and found my license holder was gone??? Turns out my dad grabbed them to apply for special permits and had not put them back in my wallet.   I explained to the officer I had everything and wondered if he could look it up in the system or something. Nope, wrote me a ticket, went to court and explained it to the judge, showed him my license and the purchase date prior to the infraction and still no mercy, paid my fine and had a grudge against them ever since.  To top it all off it was my fault according to my dad that I didn't check my wallet to make sure someone hadn't taken them out without my knowledge.

When your job description is to ticket legally licensed hunters on technicalities ( your license bitten instead of cut ) this is what you get.  I have very low respect for this type of officer.   :bash:

Any law enforcement position should be on a lottery draw. Citizens can all put a name in the hat and they are drawn randomly. Keep the head strong power trippers out of positions of authority. I work with an ex-cop. He's about as arrogant and power hungry as they come.

Since less than 10% of applicants who WANT to be cops actually are qualified enough to make it through the hiring process I don't think your system will work. But you should apply...I'm sure you'd be great at it.

I think the vast majority cannot pass the physical, drug, back ground, or mental test.   Do a ride a long and see the job.

Sounds like you have a lot experiences with cops

You know one arrogant ex therefore all cops are on power trips🤔

What scientific method did you use? Do you have any idea how much is involved in becoming an maintaining LEO status?

Back to topic sounds like he gave the kid a brake. If the line was not in the water would be more sympathetic

What if I'm standing over a dead elk with a rifle in my hands no license and a famine walks up?

Just use the bathroom buddy excuse?
