Just curious how bad fires will wipe out a turkey hunting spot. There is a good patch of public that I hunt that ALWAYS has turkeys. I guess it burnt pretty bad last year. Do you think they will move out or will they be back by april?

Doesn't seem to effect it when they do prescribed burns.  The burned area should green up nicely, bringing bugs they will be looking for (protein) in the spring to bulk up after the winter.  Probably will be better a lot better than one might expect ......

Yet if you are talking forest fire, that will move birds out! Provided that the roost trees have been lost. Spot fires or prescribed burns actually help.

Forest fire moved them completely off my place, they came through briefly not nearly as many birds as there used to be.  It burned so hot the ground looked like the surface of the moon.  I am working to replant and hope that in the next few years they come back around.  Last year was the first spring since the fire and it was pretty bleak, hoping for more action this year but not holding my breath.

I was worried about the roost trees. I figure that is the worst for those birds.

This would be ideal situation to go dig up some big pines and relocate them to your hunting area and have a roost tree or three to be able to pluck the birds out of........
