At least you can go bowling at Bass Pro. Both places think an awful lot of their junk. Sportsmans is closer.

I shop online and take advantage of sales and have my stuff delivered to the store.  It doesn't matter which because we live in Tacoma, but go to mass at Saint Martin's Abbey in Lacey on Sundays. I buy a lot more from Cabela's than BP.  The kids like the shooting gallery at Cabela's and the bowling at BP.

If I have kids, which I do, I go where the kids want to go and they never want to go to a bowling alley except the one at BP

What little I buy from Cabelas anymore comes off the internet.....cant imagine buying clothing from them anymore as the have priced me out.  Late season clothing and boots are crazy expensive, glad I got so much of my stuff years ago and only get boots every 8 to 12 years since I only wear my hunting stuff to hunt.  I have uninsulated boots and insulated boots, thats how I get away with so many years........Havent bought a thing from BP in over 20 years.

I did not like the Bass Pro Store when I went in. No deals, not much geared towards the NW at all.

I was very impressed at the fishing gear there for our NW fisheries. :dunno:

Most things I buy are at Sportco.  There are a few things Cabelas/Bass Pro have that sportco doesn't which will send me down to Cabelas.  I have not bought anything from Bass Pro and they are less then 2 miles from my house.  Most of their stuff seems pretty crappy.

When were you there? I only went during their grand opening. Seemed like their saltwater stuff was geared toward Gulf Coast offshore fishing. Salmon gear was generic and slim pickens for halibut. Maybe its better now, I haven't been back to know.  :dunno:

I went to the Puyallup Gun Show and only had a short time to check out the Bass Pro Shop, what I did look at seemed to be a little on the high side. I wouldn't make a special trip there for anything unless it was a great sale price on a larger item. I live about ten miles from the Tulalip Cabelas and stop by there once a week or so to look for cheap priced 22 ammunition and to see what's new out on the used gun rack. They haven't had to much of either in the last few months. I have gotten a few good deals on some used guns there over the last few years, probably the best buy was a JM stamped 444 Marlin lever-action rifle in great shape for $329.
They only have about half of the used gun racks that they use to have and they are slim. As far as new guns go they are generally higher prices then other gun shops I go to, but occasionally they will have a good sale on a new gun that I will jump on, but that doesn't happen to often.

Any one shop at the new Dick's at Smokey Point?
I refuse to step in their doors.

They are both fun to go into and look around. I buy most of my gear at Tri State.
