The only non revolver I own in a Ruger Mark II .22. Everything else is a wheel gun. SP101, Super Blackhawk, bearcat, Webley, a trooper. I read a couple of Elmer Keith books as a kid I think it sublimity wore off on me.

My dad bought a blued version of that back in the early 80's and still has it to this day. He's never really been into handguns all the much so he hasn't had very many but I'd bet if I asked him right now what his favorite handgun is, he'd say his Ruger single six convertible. I used to shoot his quite a bit but I recall you didn't want to forget your ear plugs when you were shooting 22Mags in it because if I recall it had a very loud crack to it.

This was my dads too, probably from the same time frame. I got it when he passed away 3 years ago. It's really accurate, but yeah...it makes some noise for sure. I've never shot it with the .22 mag wheel in it.

Got an original Ruger redhawk .44 Mag! Traded a POS Taurus PT 24-7 .45 for it. Couldn't kill a bop-it blow up toy with that thing.

What a load of cool wheel guns. I like 'em all, but my favorites are the long barrels for hunting. The hammerless are neat, as well.

Yeah, a longer barreled S&W 500 would definitely be better for hunting purposes but that 4in. 500 is my primary CCW.
