Muzzle brake
« on: April 02, 2016, 07:46:02 AM »
Curious what an approx cost is to have a muzzlebrake installed by a gunsmith on a rifle. Considering putting one on my Browning 300 Winmag stainless and have no clue if its a hundred bucks (joke) or a grand. I think it would make my gun more enjoyable to shoot tho. Tks

I paid 250.0 installed on my 300 win mag. A real nice stainless break from J.P..
The install was performed at Car Arms in Tukwila. Super good dude who will treat you right. Good luck

$195 I think I paid for a Defensive Edge brake on my .300wm.

John Taylor down in Orting. He did mine for $150ish. Not sure what he charges now. Works great.

CAR Arms has moved to a new location in Kent.
I do like Fred's work.
Nice guy.

Have you considered Mag-Na-Port?
That's my one shot.

It will depend a little on the style of brake you use. A radial like a Vias is an easy install and shouldn't cost more than $150 including a brake. The side discharge brakes will be a little more because there's more work required to get it lined up right (timed).

This is why I took the factory one off my mountain ascent. Too loud for hunting and I don't wear ear plugs out in the woods. It looked really cool though lol
