More hunt wa racism.
That's a dumb comment, Russians aren't a race unto themselves. Stereotyping is more like it, but if your going to play the racism card don't be so lackadaisical about it.

But being labeled as a "stereotypist" won't shut people up as fast as being called a racist.

Clearly their are those on this forum that follow the Saul Alinsky playbook.

I wonder how much is driven (if any) by them (all non:  US, English speaking, US educated, etc) knowing they can play the I didn't know better card to the judge.  Can think of a few cases where game/resource violators got real lenient punishment pretending they couldn't understand English. (the UCWarden case being a prime example)  The risk vs reward, but when you know you have an out regarding the risk.

For what it's worth I believe the most frequent big game violations are local, live in the area, white males. I'd be curious if anyone had legit numbers or facts on poaching and trespassing violations in relation to ethnic background.

Calling someone a racist in a conversation that is not about a race of people makes you look like an idiot. If you think it shuts people up it's only because they prefer to not have conversations with idiots. You don't prove anything but your lack of the English language.

I've known Russian's (generalizing as Slavic speaking folks) that abide by the law and those that don't. I've known good old country boys that are just the same. The worst group I know of for poaching and game violations are normally locals (not all the locals of the area but a small percentage) of any given area that believe the animals in the area belong to them because that's where those people were born and raised.

The fact that I know WA born and raised, fair skinned, english speaking dipsticks who road hunt (as far as I know, in season) with a never empty beer can in one hand has no bearing on this thread.  I didn't want to thread-jack this thread that specifically mentions Russians and fishing.

But since it has now been thread-jacked...  If you want an equal opportunity illegal hunting/fishing thread, start your own...  Peace out...      :hello:

I wouldn't mind turning in someone for poaching, regardless of where they may be from or what they speak. Anyone have a list of gamie #s and their areas so I could keep them on hand. Even if someone is gonna get let off with a slap, that is time away from the water and woods, and maybe work too. It'll cost them somehow.

OK so racism is perhaps a little strong.  I'll call it more hunt wa cultural bashing and the Russians are up this time around.  Natives on deck.

ever worked or lived overseas?

I worked in the fsu ( former Soviet Union) 4 years and speak fluent Russian, decent Ukrainian  and decent Serbo Croatian

Your  statement was juvenile

I  lived speak fluent Russian and fished and hunted in Russia Ukraine Kazakhstan  kyrgistan for 4 yeArs

Poaching is  very much of their cultural heritage

Same with China Cambodia Laos

I don't believe in racism but since that's what people are claiming we're using here I would say there are bad apples of every color. White one's are called liberal's! :chuckle:

As far as I am concerned it is believable. They have no fear of law enforcement. When they do get caught the fines are like a slap on the wrist so as far as they are concerned it is the price of doing business. Our country is weak and we allow this Eurotrash here these people who have no respect for laws and doing things by the books disregard them and we wonder why. Coming to the touchy feely state of washington is like going to heaven, being fed and getting money in your pocket to boot. I put nothing past these people, they are guaranteed to take advantage of any situation they are in. Sorry for the rant but my personal experiences with the majority of them have not been good.
