Around here, mostly under folk's houses or in their barns.    Along creeks they will usually have a den tree.  I have seen them in the middle of the day just laying on a limb sleeping, hanging out.

i live kinda in the woods but not really we just have a lot of trees around so you think they will be in the trees

Here's another picture of the 3 coons I called out of a dead tree at lunch the other day. Old beat up trees like this one are great places to find coons durring the day.
