I am considering getting an action camera. So far Im looking at gopro, sony, and garmin. Any pros or cons with what you have would help.
Also I'm didn't see anything in the regs, is it legal to attach them directly to the gun or bow?
Thank you.

I think Go Pro dominates the market, and there is probably a reason for that. Maybe just better marketing.
Milt has a new Sony, Lily has a last generation Garmin, and I have a Go Pro Hero 2. For me it's hard to tell them apart. The newer Sony has better image stabilization than the older cameras. You can attach them to your gun, but not to your bow.

If you are looking to film a hunt, they just don't work that well. I have a contour and have tried to film hunts, Even at 30 yards, you will be lucky to see arrow impact.(that is
IF
you remember to turn it on) These cams are much more suited to filming action like motorcycle, snow sports, bicycling, etc.

Take a look at Shotkam. I'd really like to get one for trap shooting to solve the never ending puzzle of "how did I miss that"? A bit pricey but someday ...
