holster recommendation
« on: May 01, 2016, 09:33:17 PM »
So the hip holster i have for one of my revolvers is a galco.  Its very snug.  Kind of yanks up on my belt while im pulling the gun out.  Im looking for a kind of loose leather thumbreak holster that it will slide out of easy.  The holster i have for my .44 is kind of soft, gun slides out like butter.  I ordered it probably 5 years ago and cant remember where i got it from.  Ive been looking all over online and its giving me a headache.  Any recommendations?

I second Simply Rugged Holsters. I have many and the Pancake holds well but allows an easy draw. Great people.

Bango have you tried to stretch the holster out any? Every galco ive had needed to be stretched.  Try putting your pistol in a couple of ziploc bags and put it in the holster for a few days.  Its worked for me i the past, might be worth a try.

Did it overnight once just in a grocery bag.  It helped a little.  Maybe i need to keep working at it.

They make large revolver holsters....I have one for my 454 casull.  I wear it on my chest with their Kenia but they also make for waste / belt carry and even shoulder holster carry.

Pman and I have had custom holsters made by this guy. Ive had him do several holsters for me and for gifts, he has a large collection of Blue guns to form holsters without yours and is quite reasonable.

Custom smart phone holster. I think it was $40ish including tax. He made it via drawings and messages with the measurements I supplied.
