bobcat,  that was what I was looking for , thanks.  it does not seem right the master hunters get more tags permits than the 65 guys and there are fewer master guys.  I know 3 master guys and all they have done in 5 years is pay money.  the amount they pay should be at least as much as a multitag guy.   mike w

You do know if master hunters get drawn for a tag it's not a given that they get to hunt that
Permit? They usually have a hunt coordinator that calls them when
There are problem elk. 65 and older tags are normal hunts.

Why is there so much heartburn on this site about MH? Nothing is stopping anyone from entering the progam. I've been in 5 years, I've gotten exactly 1 tag for a cow hunt. Way more give than take imo.
what in the wild wild world of sports???

What exactly are u asking? Are u pissed about the master hunters or not? There's no 65 master hunter group. Master hunters have to get called out on their damage hunts, they usually can't just go out and hunt because they drew the permit unlike 65 and older permits.

I couldn't agree more with you, I've been in now for 7yrs and there is a ton of volunteer work that I get to do, in order to have a chance of getting drawn for mediocre hunts. Wouldn't change it, I like doing the volunteer work, it's very rewarding. Anyone can sign up to do the program. So I'm with you, I read a ton of people getting butt hurt over some of the things we as master hunters get, but the payoffs as far as hunts goes does by no means out weigh the hrs spent volunteering.  Just my 2 cents.

Don't have to be a MH to do the volunteer work.  No stress on worrying about getting the benefits. :dunno: :chuckle:  Enjoyed a few work parties this spring so far.
Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

Anyone who wants to help cut trail, email me, always looking for help with that.
I cut about 35 miles of trail every year. If I waited on the FS to cut, our season would be over by time the trails are cleared.
Good luck and dont forget last day to put in for permits!
