There's an icon when you go to post a reply...middle row, second from left, looks like mountains or something. click that...then paste the url to your photo in between the img deals...sorry don't know the technical terms. click that icon, you'll figure out the rest from there.
as far as i could tell, you have to have your pics uploaded to photobucket or something like that.

Nice looking buck. I'm going to be doing a bit of backcountry hunting this year up in the Pasayten and hope I can find one that nice. I did some hiking up there this past rifle season and saw a few bucks but nothing shootable. I went all out and bought a 5600 cbi Dwight Schugh (spell?) pack, a jet boil cooker, water purifier, sleeping pad, NorthFace Big Horn 15 degree bag, Marmont 2 person Packlight Tent. Loaded up with all my gear for 5 days it comes in at 42 lbs. Now I just have to hit the gym and build up my cardio and do some trail work to get in shape. I would like to hunt the early season with a bow but the pasayten is not open, so I'm going to hunt it during the rifle season.

Congratulations on all the gear bowpredator. I have wondered why the Pasayten does not have any archery season?
For the story. Our camp was about 10 miles from the trail head. About a mile out of camp my brother and I were glassing this huge basin for a couple hours. I finally spotted a goat about 2 miles away. Nothing for about a half an hour then my brother spotted a group of 5 deer about 1.5 miles. Got the spotter on them and they were all does. We were just getting ready to pack up and go glass another spot when I spotted 5 deer a couple hundred yards below the goat. Got the spotter back out and the first deer I saw was the one in the pic. Checked the other four and there was a 4X4, 3X3, and 2 does. I left my brother and went to signal my dad and my best friend. They finally met me about 500 hundred yards from were could see the deer. Since my buddy had already shot a good buck on opening day he was going to stay and be the spotter/signaler.
We had decided my dad was going to be the shooter. He was pretty out of shape so we made him leave his pack and only take his gun. We couldn't just drop down and cross to the other side cause of cliffs below so we had to go around. It was about 6 miles around to get to the deer. We finally got to were I could see my buddy on the other side and he signaled that he could not see the deer but thought it was still right there somewhere. We stalked as carefully as we could across the hillside about 200 hundred yards above the tree line. As we started to cross an avalanche chute I spotted the goat bedded about the same level we were. We dropped about a hundred yards hoping the goat would not spook, then spooking all the deer. There was a tiny little cliff with about 20 trees on it directly below the goat that we were trying get to. The buck was right below that the last time I saw it. We made it to the little stand of trees without the goat spooking. I looked down the hill as I slowly made my way to the other side and there he was. Less then 70 yards with his head down feeding. I turn to my dad and tell him to shoot. I must have told him to shoot a thousand times in my head before he pulled the trigger. The buck looked up right before he shot. My dad hit it high, I think a combination of nerves and shooting freehand. My brother shot just as it wheeled down hill and dang near shot the right antler off. He just barely grazed the pedestal. We walked down there and saw were the buck had slid down a 8 foot cliff and there he was.
It was a great hunt with my family and best friend.
Here is a pic of my buddies buck that he shot a few days before.
