Hornady Reloading Manual
« on: February 09, 2009, 08:30:12 AM »
Does anyone have a new Hornady reloading manual that they can look at for me? I'm wanting to see what it says about 100gr Interbonded BT with Reloader 19. Max load as long as it isn't compressed. I have the new Speer manual and the new Barnes Manual but the numbers are slightly different for each bullet. Thanks

If anyone has used the hornady bullets in a 243 I would like to know what you think.

thanks...

Bullet Nosler Ballistic Tip
BulletWeight 90 grs
Powder Alliant Reloader 19
PowderWeight 42.5 grs
Primer Remington 9 1/2 Mag
Brass Make Lapua

This IS NOT from hornady. I do not have their newest manual. This was the closest load to 100 grn bullet that I could find with that powder. Probably not much help.

This is the bullets description off of www.midmayusa.com

Hornady InterLock Bullets 243 Caliber and 6mm (243 Diameter) 100 Grain Boat Tail Spire ... The InterLock is designed to be a devastating hunting bullet and nothing less. ...

Sorry its the Interlock not the Interbond...

I use the 117 grn interlock in a 25-06 with good results. I have a friend that has a 243 that he reloads for, I will call him and find out what his recipe is. He's always been a nosler guy I'm not sure if he could help with the hornady bullet? I will find out.

The loadbook I have only lists the BTSP #2453, SP #2450, and RN #2455 in 100 grains.  RL-19 is listed as follows for each:

36.5 gr  2500 FPS
38.0 gr  2600 FPS
39.5 gr  2700 FPS
41.0 gr  2800 FPS
42.5 gr  2900 FPS
44.0 gr  3000 FPS (Max Load)

243 Winchester
Rifle: Win Model 70
Barrel 24"
1 in 10" Twist
Case: Hornady
Primer: Federal 210

I shoot Hornady BTSPs in my 25-06 and 270 Win.  I usually find the best accuracy a slot or two below the listed max load.  In this case 41.0 - 42.5 grains.  Hope this helps.

Let me know what you end up with.  I will be reloading this cartridge for a friend, hence the reason why I have the loadbook.

Screw the new books......You want to get your hands on an OLD book.  Older the better.

I have no problem finding 243 data I have a old Hornady book along with an old Speer and a new Speer and a New Barnes and a really old one that is paper back and doesn't even have a cover, it rounds all the velocities up the nearest 100th. The old Hornady manual that I have only has IMR powders in it. I have R19 data from Speer and Barnes but I know it will be slightly different with the 100gr Interlock BT by Hornady. The BC on the bullet is different, this would make a slight difference. Yes I'm being picky, I just wanted to know what it said about it.

Could and probable will but I only need that one piece of info out of it and I figured that most of the guys on here if they had it would have no problem looking at it for me. If you need something out of one of mine I'll look it up for you when I get back to my house and civilization this weekend.  :chuckle: The reason that I don't just run down and buy it is the closest store to me that would have the book is over 70 miles away.  :chuckle:

LOL....it probably rounds up because thats how fast they are actually going.  They didn't have as many lawyers around back then.  The max charge was truely a MAX CHARGE....
