WDFW screwed my hunting this year!
« on: June 07, 2016, 07:01:57 PM »
I purchased nearly $100.00 in special hunts. I carefully researched my options and chose carefully. I got my receipt in the mail with all my hunts listed as purchased. I waited until this month to start checking draw results, and none what I purchased showed up at all! I figured that maybe they were doing things differently this year and maybe the DNRY screen was a thing of the past. Then my buddy showed me that his hunt options were showing up and they were listed as DNRY. So I checked again today and now my hunt choices are listed as all being points options (which I did not choose) and four of the hunts that I chose and purchased tickets for are still not listed. Needless to say, I'm pretty annoyed right now. I hope no one else is going through the same BS. I'm calling licensing tomorrow to try and straighten this out but I am not holding my breath for a positive experience.

Did you write down your confirmation numbers after you applied?

Sounds like you bought them but didn't submit them after purchasing.

nope I definitely submitted them. Why would they run my card if I hadn't submitted them?

They run your card when you purchase them, not submit then.

You do need to actually submit them after purchasing them. You must select which hunts you want to apply for in each special hunt category. Some have more choices then others. Quality = 2 hunt choices, others have 4 hunt choices. Do you have an example of what you applied for?

They run your card when you purchase them, not submit then.

 :yeah:

If that's the case then they're gone,  does anyone know a way to recoup the loss?

Buddy of mine was suppose to join my group and bought the $6 application but failed to submit it, and I drew successful.  Not a $100 mistake, but a lost hunt opportunity for sure.

Sounds like you probably didn't submit them. Did you go into each individual's category you purchased and select the specific hunts you wanted to apply for?

HeronBlu, may I offer some advice?  Take a deep breath, and wait a few days.  Oftentimes, just prior to the special tag result announcements we notice some really strange things happen on the website.  It is possible that just this has happened, and all will be well with your points and application.

Give it a few days, then go berserk.  H'm K?

If you only purchase the applications and don't submit them, I believe you are automatically entered in for the point option. Maybe that's what happened? Could you have forgotten to submit your app's?

If you log in here it will show your entire application history along with the time and date that you submitted each application:

Yeah, you are probably right. I'm just frustrated. Ill call them tomorrow and post the update. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this too?

Just tell them you called a high level dept employee and they said it was ok for them to add your applications to the draw! :chuckle:

I knew my draw results the day I purchased permits, got everything I put in for too. 1 antlered moose point and 1 ram sheep point.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

OK I jumped the gun so to speak blaming Wdfw. I called them this morning and fixed the glitch. I guess they were having server problems when I was looking at it. Everything I submitted for is correct and DNRY. Phew!!!

Thank goodness.

I think we had a similar post the day after the draw, guy came on complaining about the WDFW not allowing him to modify his application before the drawing and he was all bent out of shape about it.  Started a thread after business hours complaining.  Called them the next day and got it worked out as well.

Public service announcement, give them a chance to fix it before starting a thread blaming them.

Again glad you are waiting for results like the rest of us.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
