"Good" day fishing Monday
« on: July 21, 2016, 08:54:51 AM »
I had to bring some folks to a small island for a weed removal project so got to do a little fishing.  I tried to target something to bring home for dinner like Cabezon or Greenling.  I finally caught a nice greenling right at the end but had to wade through four lings and four rockfish (tagged these) to do so.  It's a rough life....   :IBCOOL:

Anyways, the Greenling was 16 inches and the ling in the selfie was 29 1/2. The first drop of the day got me the big ling, 39 1/2 inches and about 25 pounds I'm guessing. It took about fifteen minutes to land as it was hooked by its pectoral fin. This is my largest to date, was hoping to break that 40" mark when I saw her.

As they should. They'll eat a guy of your stature.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.
