So any word on when we should find out? Hopefully this week?

Nope.  No commitment whatsoever from "Dave".  I'm betting on next week at the earliest.

  If that's the case I may still have a chance for an elk tag.  :dunno: :chuckle:

Even though you weren't drawn for a Deer or Elk Multi-Season Permit you have another opportunity. Applicants who purchased a Multi-Season Application and applied for the drawing, but were not selected, will have a chance to purchase a permit on August 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.

Multi-Season Deer or Elk Permits will only be available for purchase at an authorized WDFW License Dealer or WDFW Regional Offices No online sales will be provided.

Applicants will not lose points for purchasing a Multi-Season Deer or Elk Permit. If you put in for the points only option, you are not eligible to purchase at this time.

Multi-Season Elk Permits are expected to sell out in 30 seconds. It is likely that only one in every 20 license vendors will be able to complete a transaction for the Multi-Season Elk Permit. Make sure you purchase your General Deer or Elk License before you purchase a Multi-Season Permit.

Multi-Season Elk Permits will be on sale starting at 10:30 a.m. on August 16. Customers will only be able to purchase a Multi-Season Elk Permit at that time. Two minutes later, at 10:32 a.m., deer permits will become available for purchase. If you are planning on purchasing both permits, you will have to do so in two separate transactions.

You must surrender your General Deer or Elk Tag at the time of purchase. There are no exceptions. You will not be able to mail in your General Deer or Elk Tags at a later date.

On August 16th your General Season Deer Tag will not need to be voided at the time of your purchase. On August 17th you or the license dealer will need to contact the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Headquarters at (360) 902-2464 to have your General Season Deer Tag voided at the time of your Multi-Season Deer Permit purchase.

Agreed. Got to give the game department props for a little foresight.

Great, that's just great. Kinda bs. No chance for a working class man to have a chance at a tag now.

my cousin was behind the guy, and my cousin was 2nd or 3rd in line, didn't get his multi elk because some dill weed just had to buy his deer permit while the rest of the state was waiting in line for the elk.  He just couldn't wait 5 minutes to get a permit that never sells out, that's just stupid. And just like this year, we know there is no reason to hurry for the deer tag.

The deadline to purchase and submit a multi-season permit application is March 31. The normal permit drawings occur in May and results are available in June. If you applied for and drew a Quality (or other) permit in the normal drawing, the multi-season permit would be of limited value to most hunters since their time and resources would be focused on the quality hunt opportunity.

Some successful applicants are drawn for permits in other states, or have a career change that doesn't allow them as much time to hunt, or have a health issue come up that restricts their hunting, or move, or have a change in their financial status, or simply decide that spending $180 isn't worth it.
