I would say yes, but I think my wife would say no.  She found the receipt from when I purchased them.  It wasn't pretty.  I'm not sure what the species is, I'll get back to you on that.

Cabelas, 5mm, mid grade, shadowgrass....blah blah blah... If I was to buy again, maybe next year... I would get a brushbuster tougher design. I pop holes in the 5mm, I imagine if I had 3.5mm I would be tearing holes in them...

Go tough...nothing worse than some reed or stick popping a leak in your waders at the start of a day of duck blasting...

Cabelas Supermag 1600 5mm, and a new pair of Cabelas Brush buster 1000g.  My old pair were hodgman 600g 3mm, the briars were too much for them and tore them up.

I'm looking real hard at the supermag 1600.  Looks like a real nice wader for the price.  I'm torn between that one and the lacrosse brush tuff extreme.

Well,

I had absolutely decided I was getting the Cabelas supermag 1600/5mm.

Today my wife came home with a pair of hodgman 1000/5mm with matching elbow length neoprene gloves from the PX...and a dozen mallard decoys 6/6 from walmart.

Not exactly what I would have chosen but hey, they will work.

guess Ill try the supermag 1600 next year!

The 1000/5mm will be waay to much wader for the wetside....your gonna sweat your balls off. Hodgman makes a nice wader though, and they should last a season or two. I will be using Sims Ultralights over here and my 1000/5mm on the eastside. It is just too damn warm over here. And as far as the dekes go, hide those Wally World specials in the garage and only use em when the old lady tags along. The paint will chip like hell, even after the first couple of trips. Get some Cabelas Real Image dekes or some FA Pro Guide Series. I am speaking from years of experience.  8)  :chuckle: :chuckle: (yes....that means I bought some Wally World specials  :P )

Your waders will be fine, just hot. The Flam dekes on the other hand, look great out of the box, but the paint on them is horrible. You can use them, sure, but the paint will chip really bad. You might be able to use some Krylon 1311 I think. It is a ultra flat clear coat.  I do all my dekes with the stuff and it really saves paint. If you want to keep the Wally World dekes get a 12 slot Full Body bag, that really saves alot of paint.

there's been some real cold days over here the last few seasons...i'd keep them waders, you'll use them...especially if you're not doing a lot of walking.
